Get involved
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the LORD and not for men, since you know that you will receive and inheritance from the LORD as a reward
- Colossians 3:23-24.
The Bible calls us to serve the LORD with our whole lives and one of the ways each of us can do that is by helping at CU. We rely on every member of the CU to get involved in serving the CU in different ways, big and small. Please think about how you can be involved over the next year:
- PA - if you can help in setting up PA then you become an absolute legend. We need people to help with this at Friday Night Meetings, at lunchbars and at other evangelistic events. Contact the PA team.
- Lunchbar set-up - help by making sandwiches for the lunchbar every Thursday or Friday morning from 11 (check out the calendar), or help set up the chairs from 12pm. You can also give out flyers for the lunchbar from 12pm.
- Bookstall - want to help on the bookstall on a Friday Night? Then send an email to Katherine Dixon and she can put you on the rota. It involves setting up, selling with a smile and putting them away at the end.
- Car-owners we need you! We need people to drive the PA equipment and the bookstall to the building we have the Friday Meetings in. Send an email to Claire Askew and she will put you on the rota.
- Laptop Operators are essential! We need people to help out in Equip and at some other events with laptop, so that we have the words for songs, notices, and even talk notes to follow. If you can serve in this way (you will be trained!), please contact Claire Askew and she'll put you on the rota!
Finally the most important way each of can be serving the LORD and the CU is by doing evangelism and inviting our friends to come along to events the CU run. There is absolutely no point us putting on events if no one comes. Most people do not come to an evangelistic event unless they are invited. So please invite your non-Christian friend to events, do first contact and share the gospel with those around you, for the glory of God.
